Knorr-Bremse is a global leader in the Rail and Commercial Vehicle industries, with more than 30,000 employees worldwide. In Australia, we work with some of the biggest names in both industries, providing the products, technology and services that help keep Australia moving.
Being part of Knorr-Bremse means having the backing of a global organisation while working in a local business where you can get involved, build relationships and make a difference.
We're looking for a Financial Accountant who enjoys getting into the detail, takes pride in accurate financial reporting and likes finding better ways of doing things.
About the role
This is a hands-on accounting role where you'll take responsibility for key financial processes across our Australian business.
You'll work closely with our local Finance team and Global Business Services (GBS) colleagues, supporting month-end and year-end reporting, maintaining accurate accounts and helping resolve accounting issues.
The role covers a broad range of accounting activities, from reconciliations and cashflow forecasting through to tax support and financial controls.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing balance sheet, bank, provision and accrual reconciliations.
- Supporting month-end and year-end reporting, including journals and intercompany reconciliations.
- Preparing cashflow forecasts and monitoring accounts receivable and payable ageing.
- Managing banking administration and supporting financial controls.
- Working with Global Business Services to resolve accounting issues and maintain accurate records.
- Supporting tax lodgements, inventory devaluation and other accounting requirements.
- Helping implement and improve local finance procedures.
Beyond the day-to-day accounting, you'll have the opportunity to strengthen our financial processes, improve the accuracy of our reporting and become someone the wider business can rely on. We're looking for someone who takes pride in getting the numbers right and wants to leave things working better than they found them.
About you
You'll be someone who enjoys accounting, is comfortable working through the detail and takes responsibility for getting things right.
You like solving problems, following things through and building valuable working relationships. You're also open to challenging existing processes when you can see a better way.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- A degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Progress towards CA or CPA qualification.
- At least five years' experience in financial accounting or a similar role.
- Strong reconciliation, month-end and year-end accounting experience.
- Experience working with shared services teams.
- Good understanding of financial controls, cashflow forecasting and general ledger accounting.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
You'll be part of an established global industry leader, working with colleagues locally and internationally and gaining exposure to a broader finance network.
We also offer:
- Hybrid working arrangements.
- 17.5% annual leave loading.
- Opportunities to work with experienced finance professionals across our international business.
- The stability and opportunities that come with a global organisation.
If this sounds like the kind of role you'd enjoy, we'd like to hear from you.
