Gungahlin Concrete Services is seeking an experienced Concrete Placing and Finishing Supervisor to join our team in the Canberra region. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing concrete placement and finishing. Ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency on site. As Concrete Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading teams, monitoring quality, coordinating resources and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. This role is integral to our operations and directly impacts the successful delivery of our projects and the professional reputation of Gungahlin Concrete Services.

Key responsibilities

- Supervising and coordinating concrete site activities on assigned projects, ensuring work is completed to specification and within agreed timelines
- Leading and managing site teams, including concrete operatives, labourers and apprentices, providing direction, support and performance feedback
- Conducting daily toolbox talks and safety briefings to ensure all team members understand site-specific hazards and work procedures
- Monitoring concrete placement, finishing, curing and quality control processes to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards
- Liaising with project managers, clients, engineers and other contractors to coordinate site activities and resolve issues promptly
- Maintaining accurate site records, including timesheet documentation, equipment logs, safety reports and quality inspections
- Conducting Pre Pour inspections and identifying potential issues to be communicated the builder that may impact project delivery




- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety legislation, company policies and environmental requirements
- Managing equipment, tools and materials on site to minimise waste and maintain site organisation
- Reporting progress, challenges and safety incidents to management and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

What we're looking for

- Trade qualifications or recognised certification in concrete work or civil construction, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a concrete construction or supervisory role
- Demonstrable experience supervising site teams and managing concrete placement, formwork, finishing and quality control processes
- Current or eligible for White Card (Construction Induction Card) and driver's licence
- Strong knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act and relevant industry codes of practice
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and site plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate with clients and stakeholders
- Organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet project deadlines




- Physical capability to work on construction sites in varying weather conditions
- Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving site issues
- Preferred: Experience with formwork systems, reinforced concrete, or commercial and infrastructure projects
