Redeemer Lutheran College is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Teacher with a specialisation in Film, Television & New Media to join our vibrant Arts and Technologies community. This is an exciting chance to lead students through the creative process, from concept development and scriptwriting to filming, editing and production, while fostering excellence in media literacy and creative expression.

About the Role

You will design and deliver engaging learning experiences that develop students' creative, technical and analytical skills across Film, Television and Digital Media. The successful applicant will have the ability to inspire students through practical projects, industry-relevant learning and authentic production experiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging Film, Television and Media Arts programs across Years 6-12.
- Teach video production, cinematography, editing, sound and visual storytelling.
- Guide students in scriptwriting, production planning and collaborative filmmaking.
- Support student participation in film festivals, competitions and showcase events.
- Integrate emerging technologies and contemporary media practices into learning.
- Foster critical thinking through the analysis of film, television and digital media texts.
- Contribute positively to the broader life of the College through pastoral care and co-curricular involvement.

About You





You are a creative educator who combines technical expertise with a passion for developing young storytellers and critical thinkers.

You will bring:

- Queensland teacher registration (mandatory).
- Experience teaching Film, Television, Media Arts or related subjects.
- Strong knowledge of film production workflows and editing platforms.
- A passion for contemporary media, digital storytelling and emerging technologies.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to inspire students of varying abilities and interests.
- Experience with industry-standard production equipment and software.
- Background in filmmaking, broadcasting, content creation or media production.
- Experience leading student productions, media clubs or film festivals.
- Knowledge of current trends in digital content creation, streaming and social media production.
