Job Description

During your Internship Program with us, we will provide you with:

- Interactive face-to-face sessions covering clinical pharmacy and retail management
- Access to exclusive exam resources
- Practise oral exams with immediate constructive feedback

- Ongoing support from program facilitators and coordinators

Program Structure

The program includes full day of monthly training sessions, covering a wide range of topics such as clinical pharmacy, retail management, pharmacology, and Over-The-Counter product knowledge. These topics are broken down into 11 manageable interactive sessions during of the year’s program.

Practical Experience: Interns gain hands-on experience in various clinical services and retail pharmacy operations. This practical training is designed to complement the accredited Intern Training Program, and will include assisting with scripts, dispensing medication, providing customer service and advice on medications, inventory control as well as other administrative duties in the pharmacy.

Support and Resources: Interns have access to exclusive exam resources, practice oral exams with immediate feedback, and ongoing support from program facilitators and coordinators. Each intern is also assigned a dedicated onsite preceptor.

Career Pathways: Upon completion there are extensive employment opportunities within Chemist Warehouse.



Career pathways include roles such as Pharmacist, Pharmacist in Charge, Pharmacist Manager, Area Manager, and even Pharmacy Owner opportunities.

A typical day might look like:

- Assisting with scripts in/out and dispensing
- General Dispensary administration
- Ordering and unpacking Dispensary stock

- Ability to undertake pre-registrant year immediately
- Ability to work well in a team and autonomously
- Dedicated work ethic
- Eye for detail and accuracy
- Retail Pharmacy experience advantageous
- Willingness to learn and grow with the business

Our team members work in our pharmacies throughout their shift, often standing for long periods. Stock replenishment can involve repeated movements and lifting heavier items, so please keep this in mind when applying.
