About Omen Security

Omen Security provides specialist security solutions across a range of industries, including aviation and other critical infrastructure. Our people have built their skills in domestic and overseas high-threat environments and apply that experience to the way security is delivered in Australia today.

Our knowledge covers counter-terrorism, intelligence, investigations, law enforcement, technology, and explosives. That makes us subject matter experts on the existing and evolving threats facing Australia's national interests, and it gives us the confidence to identify, analyse and reduce security risk in a wide range of environments.

About the role

The Security Assurance Analyst supports the SYD Security Assurance team by carrying out safety and security audits, assisting with security incident investigations, and handling other security matters. The work backs SYD's strategy of being the preferred international gateway and the most connected airport in Australia, through service, efficiency, and innovation. That depends on everyone working as safely and securely as possible.

You will carry out security assurance activities across the airport precinct to make sure all stakeholders comply with aviation security legislation and SYD's security rules and policies. The role covers auditing, data analysis and working with many different stakeholders.

You will help identify security risks and give practical advice and solutions to support compliance.

You will be employed by Omen Security and seconded to the SYD Security Assurance and Compliance team, while remaining an Omen employee. You report to the Omen Aviation Security Program manager, but your day-to-day activities are managed by the SYD Compliance and Security Manager. The role is Monday to Friday and covers all three terminals. You are regularly required to walk/bus between terminals and can expect to cover up to approximately 5km per shift when carrying out your duties.

- Collect and analyse operational data to find vulnerabilities and recommend fixes.
- Spot risks and manage or escalat them promptly.
- Professionally challenge compliance breaches.
- Record and report using web-based applications, with clear, accurate reports.
- Give practical advice on aviation security, compliance, and risk, and assist with security incident investigations.
- Keep a thorough understanding of the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004, Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005, latest ASN SYD screening notice and SYD TSP and other policies procedures.
- Build positive working relationships with tenants,

contractors, airlines, and government agencies.

Key relationships

These may include, but are not limited to, the following.

- Internal
- SYD Security team.

- Able to obtain and hold an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card). The application will include relevant background checks.
- Proficient with web-based applications and strong report writing skills.
- Able to carry out audits and analyse data to reach sound conclusions.
- Able to spot risk, then decide whether to manage it yourself or escalat them promptly.
- Confident enough to challenge a compliance breach and stay professional while doing it.
- Able to build good working relationships across many stakeholders, including retail tenants, contractors, airlines, and government agencies.
- Sound judgement and the ability to work with little supervision on a large site.
- Reliable, punctual, and calm under pressure.
- Previous experience in aviation, critical infrastructure, security, compliance, investigations, or law enforcement.
- Working knowledge of the Aviation Transport Act 2004 and associated regulations.
- Understanding of compliance in a retail or tenancy setting.
