Expressions of Interest for Junior Compositor role

Location: Sydney
This role would be on site only and you must have legal right to work in Sydney, Australia.

About Us

Blockhead VFX is a boutique studio in Paddington, Sydney, known for creating extraordinary visuals across commercials, film, and episodic TV. We’re small enough that every team member makes a visible impact, yet our work reaches global audiences. Our studio thrives on creativity, collaboration, and balance — we believe great artistry comes from teams who enjoy their evenings and weekends too.

The Role

We’re looking for a Junior Comp Artist to join our talented crew. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-end VFX shots and sequences while learning from experienced artists. You’ll work with CG backgrounds, live action plates, stock footage, and practical elements — building your skills in a supportive,

boutique environment where your work truly matters. We are predominantly an Autodesk Flame based pipeline.

What You’ll Bring

- Completion of a recognised compositing or VFX training program
- A collaborative spirit — eager to learn and contribute within a team
- Basic understanding of production pipelines and techniques
- A sharp eye for detail and a willingness to grow under pressure
- Solid organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with positivity and focus
- A friendly, inclusive nature that adds to our studio culture

Here at Blockhead we thrive on working with exceptional people.
If you’re outstanding, then don’t wait . . .
