Role
We’re looking for a solutions focused Senior Design Engineer who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and has the willingness to own a project from end to end. Reporting to the Engineering and Quality Manager we’re looking for someone who understands people, processes and the importance of customer relationships. Experience in a design role working with a workshop, production staff, engineers and customers is a must. As a senior member of the team you will provide support and mentorship to the junior members. You must capable of the following;
- Use CAD design softwares to create recent and amend existing drawings within the various product portfolios
- Prepare Manuals, reports and other documents
- Capture and document design and build changes as part of the product development process
- Maintain drafting libraries, work instructions and drawing office documentation
- Provide technical support/advice back to individual customers
- General administration work for engineering processes and documentation
- Work cohesively between internal departments such as sales and marketing and also a like with external suppliers
- Support BOM and documentation release for customers
Skills Required
- Tertiary Qualifications related to Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years experience working in mechanical design engineering
- High proficiency in Solidworks. Minimum 5 years experience.
- Capable of prioritising projects and multi-tasking workloads effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills when articulating technical issues, with strong attention to detail
- Experience in a fabrication environment
