About The Company
Peoplebank is a specialist recruitment and workforce solutions provider connecting skilled technology professionals with meaningful opportunities. We work with organisations delivering important programs and digital solutions across Australia. Our approach is built on strong relationships, thoughtful recruitment, and a commitment to inclusive workplaces where people can contribute and grow.
Peoplebank and Leaders IT welcome applicants with a broad range of backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
About The Role
Peoplebank is recruiting an experienced Full Stack Java Developer for a long-term program of work based in Adelaide CBD. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement; it is not fully remote, and you will need to be able to work from the Adelaide location as required. You will join a collaborative Agile team contributing to a significant and engaging project.
Working closely with Business Analysts, subject matter experts, and technical colleagues, you will help turn business needs into well-designed, reliable software solutions.
This is a hands-on development opportunity suited to a professional with at least five years of commercial full stack development experience. It is not a junior or entry-level position. The successful candidate will bring sound technical judgement, clear communication, and a practical approach to planning and delivering development work.
Qualifications
You will have at least five years of commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer and proven capability developing applications with Java and related technologies. Relevant experience includes Spring, Hibernate, HTML, jQuery, Bootstrap,
Python, R, and React. We do not expect candidates to have every technology listed; strong full stack Java development experience is the core requirement.
Additional experience that may be useful includes working with data storage and processing technologies such as Azure Databricks, DB2, and SQL, as well as Unix scripting. Familiarity with software configuration management, continuous build and integration practices, and tools such as SVN, Bamboo, and Crucible will be valued. You should also have experience using Jira and contributing within an Agile environment.
Knowledge of testing platforms such as Cypress or equivalent tools, ETL solutions such as SSIS or Azure Data Factory, and EBX and its related APIs is advantageous. Familiarity with SOAP, CXF, and JSON will also be beneficial. You should be able to communicate technical concepts clearly and work constructively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Business Analysts and subject matter experts to clarify, define, understand, and document business requirements. Design, develop, and document complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications, following established standards, tools, and engineering practices.
Deliver maintainable, well-engineered outcomes that meet business and technical needs.
Identify and manage risks that could affect the delivery of system releases, raising concerns early and contributing to practical solutions. Estimate the effort and duration required for development tasks, monitor your progress, and refine estimates over time. Provide clear updates on task progress, anomalies, risks, and issues to relevant stakeholders.
Contribute technical expertise during requirements analysis to strengthen solution design and support effective delivery. Share knowledge with colleagues and look for opportunities to improve development practices and solution processes across the organisation. Participate in team discussions, planning, reviews, and other Agile activities.
Benefits
Join a supportive, collaborative team working on an interesting, long-term program with the chance to contribute to meaningful project outcomes. The hybrid arrangement provides a mix of workplace collaboration and flexibility, while maintaining a connection to the Adelaide CBD team. You will have the opportunity to apply and extend your technical skills across full stack development, integration, data, and delivery practices.
Equal Opportunity
Peoplebank and Leaders IT are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone belongs. Applications are welcome from people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. If you require an adjustment during the recruitment process, please let us know so we can support your needs.
