About the role
Lighthouse Furnishings Pty Ltd is seeking a Trainee Fabric Cutter to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Seventeen Mile Rocks, QLD, this role is essential to our manufacturing operations within the curtain making sector. As a Fabric Cutter, you will play a crucial part in transforming design specifications into precisely cut fabric components, directly contributing to the quality and efficiency of our production processes. This position offers flexibility as a casual role, allowing for work-life balance whilst maintaining high standards in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Key responsibilities

- Accurately cutting fabric materials according to specifications
- Operating and maintaining fabric cutting equipment
- Inspecting fabric quality before and after cutting to identify defects or irregularities
- Organising and preparing fabric layouts to minimise waste and maximise efficiency
- Ensuring all cut components meet specified dimensions and tolerances
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area in compliance with health and safety standards
- Collaborating with workroom managers to clarify specifications and resolve cutting issues
- Following company procedures and quality control protocols consistently
- Full training will be provided
- Immediate start available What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Fabric Cutter or in a similar garment manufacturing or textile cutting role an advantage but not essential
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting cutting paperwork
- Practical knowledge of various fabric types and their cutting characteristics an advantage
- Competency in operating standard fabric cutting equipment and tools safely and effectively




- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy and precision
- Understanding of quality control principles and waste minimisation techniques
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
- Commitment to health and safety compliance in the workplace
