Reporting to the Site Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor / Planner is responsible for overseeing the preventative maintenance of our hydraulically driven hay press, mobile equipment and machinery. The role will ensure the hay press and associated equipment operate at optimal efficiency, minimising downtime and production delays. The Maintenance Supervisor / Planner will also coordinate and supervise the activities of maintenance personnel.

Description:
Key Result Areas for which the Maintenance Supervisor / Planner is responsible:

- Review daily walk around checklists and prepare and prioritise work orders;
- Inform management of any impending failures identified from the walk around at the daily production meeting;
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance personnel and daily maintenance activities;
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance (MEX) procedures for the hay press, including regular inspections, cleaning, lubrication and planned maintenance;
- Maintain the stores, including inventory accuracy, rotatable parts, the stores catalogue, reorder levels, minimum and maximum stock levels and obsolete items;
- Troubleshoot technical problems with the hay press and other equipment, identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence;




- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime;
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance schedules and equipment history;
- Collaborate with Production and other departments to ensure maintenance activities support production targets and operational requirements;
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements and recommend equipment upgrades or modifications where required.

Skills and Experiences:
The successful person will require the following attributes:

- Relevant trade qualification or technical certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance preferred;
- Minimum 3 years' experience in maintenance and repair of hydraulic or industrial equipment;
- Experience coordinating or supervising maintenance personnel;
- MEX Maintenance Software experience is highly valued;
- Hydraulic, mechanical and electrical experience would be advantageous;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Valuable organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise planned and breakdown maintenance;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends as needed.

Relevant ongoing training in all aspects of the manufacturing process and management systems will be provided to the successful candidate.
