People Operations Manager
- APAC Lead with Vision
- Permanent Full-time
- $200,000
- $220,000 inc. super
- Melbourne / Hybrid This isn't a role for advising from the sidelines. It's for an operator who has run People Operations, led the teams behind it, and knows what it takes to make a global model work on the ground. What's the Brief? You'll be joining a global technology organisation with an established, globally structured People Operations function. Global processes are led from the UK, and much of the processing is delivered through a centralised offshore team. As the regional lead for People Operations, you'll be the vital link between offshore execution and effective delivery on the ground across Australia and New Zealand. Leading a team of five across Australia and Singapore, you'll set the standard for how HR and ER operations are delivered in region, ensuring local compliance requirements are built into global processes from the outset. It's a hands-on operational leadership role. You'll know the day to day because you've run it, which means you can guide your team through the operational watch-outs and keep compliance practical. Where You'll Make an Impact Operations Management: Lead the delivery of core HR and ER services across Australia and New Zealand in line with agreed service levels, owning service delivery, governance and execution day to day. Offshore Partnership: Serve as the bridge between offshore processing and local delivery, keeping the processing team informed of legislative and local changes, ensuring processes are delivered accurately and compliant. Policy and Compliance: Keep policies, processes and employment contracts compliant with local law,

staying ahead of legislative change and determining where a local approach is required and where processes can align with global standards. Governance and Continuous Improvement : Strengthen risk, audit and operational controls, and improve processes across shared services and mobility to drive global standardisation, greater automation and an improved experience across the organisation. Project and Change Management: Manage key projects using best-practice approaches, coordinating with payroll, communications and business leaders. Guide the business through change in a compliant, well-managed way, and act as subject matter expert on wider people initiatives. Case Management and Manager Capability : Ensure a high-quality ER service, coaching line managers through processes and making sure those processes are followed to mitigate risk. Develop communications and training that build manager capability across the business. Team Leadership : Build a high-performing team of five through coaching, feedback and clear accountability for performance, productivity and operational outcomes, providing technical oversight on ER case support. Global Partnership and Broader People Agenda : Bring the local perspective to a UK-led global People team, influencing how global processes land locally, while contributing to engagement,

wellbeing and learning initiatives. What Sets You Apart Your career was built in HR operations, and you've since stepped up to lead operational teams. Having done the work yourself rather than advising from a distance, you understand where processes come under pressure, what a team needs to perform consistently, and how to make compliance practical in a real business setting. You bring a strong commercial lens. You recognise when there's room for flexibility, when compliance or operational needs must take priority, and how to achieve the right people outcomes without introducing unnecessary risk, cost or complexity. You'll bring:
- Deep People Operations experience, including leading operational teams in more than one role (non negotiable)
- Hands-on experience managing operational processes, service delivery, governance and execution, including exposure to shared services, mobility and continuous improvement
- Experience working with offshore or centralised delivery teams within a global People model
- Strong knowledge of employment contract compliance and key employment legislation across Australia and Current Zealand
- Experience translating policy and compliance requirements into practical processes
- A strong understanding of risk, audit, process improvement and operational controls
- Experience leading the transformation of HR processes and policies
- Project management experience, taking change from planning through to delivery
- The discretion to handle sensitive matters, and the drive to work independently and at pace
- A solid ER grounding (deep specialist ER or IR expertise isn't required)
