Mentoring That Goes Beyond Treatment Techniques
Our Principal Physiotherapist, Rick Chiang, brings more than 20 years of experience across physiotherapy, education, private practice, business and professional development.
His clinical training includes:
Certified Mulligan Practitioner | Ridgway Method Certified Practitioner | Registered Trigenics Practitioner
Mentoring focuses on developing strong assessment,
clinical reasoning and treatment skills rather than simply teaching one treatment formula.
Rick also has training as an NLP Trainer, Hypnotherapy Trainer and Demartini Method Facilitator.
For team members who are interested, mentoring can therefore extend beyond clinical practice into:
- patient communication and rapport
- professional confidence
- managing challenging conversations
- leadership
- goal setting and personal effectiveness
- referral relationship development
- understanding the business side of private practice
The aim is to help you become a confident and well-rounded physiotherapist, not simply someone who treats a full list of patients every day.
A Different Path Depending on Where You Are in Your Career
If you're a new graduate or early-career physio, we will support you to progressively develop your clinical reasoning, communication, caseload management and confidence with more complex patients.
You will have experienced clinicians available for guidance rather than being expected to figure everything out alone.
If you're an experienced physiotherapist, you can have greater autonomy and opportunities to develop an area of interest, build referral relationships, mentor junior clinicians, move into leadership and explore future business or partnership opportunities.
About the Role
You may work with a varied caseload including musculoskeletal, occupational and sports-related presentations.
Your role may include:
- Assessment and treatment
- Manual therapy and therapeutic exercise
- Rehabilitation planning and patient education
- Independent caseload management
- Collaboration with other allied health professionals
- Participation in mentoring and professional development
- Building appropriate professional referral relationships
