Job Summary:

Cook – Hotel Flamingo Pty Ltd (Ruby Red Flamingo)

Full-time permanent position

The Cook will be a part of a tight-knit team and will be responsible for preparing and cooking

high-quality dishes according to the a la carte menu. The incumbent works closely with the

Restaurant Managers, Chefs and kitchen team to ensure efficient food production while

maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including planning

kitchen operations

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.

- Assist in food preparation, including for in-house functions, ensuring timely and high-

quality service.

- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food storage areas.

- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are always followed.

- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Chefs.

- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

- Follow portion control guidelines to minimise food waste.

- Delegating work to apprentices or junior staff

Skills & Qualifications:





- Formal qualifications as a Cook or a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Cook.

- A minimum of 12 months of work experience is required

- Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace and handle multiple orders

simultaneously.

- Strong attention to detail and presentation.

- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.

- Good communication and teamwork skills.

- Ability to work unsupervised

- Ability to manage staff and provide training and support

- Knowledge of Italian cuisine

Hours of work are between Wednesday to Sunday, inclusive of nights, with a required

minimum of 38 hours per week.
