THE AVENUE - HEAD OF COMPETITION AND PERFORMANCE TEAM - Part-Time Role

Are you the kind of person who brings passion, energy and positivity into every rehearsal?

Do you believe that being part of a performance team is about so much more than winning trophies it's about building confidence, friendships, teamwork and a love of performing?

Do you love sharing your knowledge, inspiring other teachers and helping young dancers become the very best versions of themselves?

At The Avenue Performance Studio, we're looking for a Head of Competition & Performance Team who genuinely loves developing young performers and is excited about helping other teachers deliver that same experience.

Someone who understands that great performance teams are built through strong training, positive relationships and teachers who genuinely care about their students.

This is more than a teaching role.

It's an opportunity to shape a department, mentor teachers and take on leadership while creating and prepare our competition & performance teams for the stage.

Why This Role Matters

Our Competition & Performance Team programs are where dancers build confidence, develop their skills and discover what they can achieve when they work together. It's about developing dancers and teachers, building a positive team culture and helping students feel prepared and proud on stage.

As our Head of Competition & Performance Team, you'll play an important role in creating an environment where dancers feel supported, challenged and excited to grow.

- Helping maintain consistent teaching standards and a positive training experience across the department.
- Contributing ideas to develop and improve our Competition & Performance Team programs.

Who You Are

You don't need to have had a role like this before, but you do need a genuine passion for developing young dancers and helping others grow.

You might be perfect if you are:

- Passionate, energetic and naturally great at inspiring young dancers.
- An experienced dance teacher who understands how to develop technique, confidence and performance skills.
- Creative and motivating, while also valuing structure and consistency.
- A confident and caring communicator with dancers, parents and families.
- Someone who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting other teachers.
- Organised, reliable and comfortable taking initiative.
- Someone who wants to be part of a team, not just clock in and out.

Bonus points if you have experience in:

- Relevant dance teaching qualifications.
- Teaching or coordinating competition and performance programs.
- Mentoring teachers or choreographers.
- Preparing dancers for competitions, showcases or performance events.

Required: A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).

What's In It For You

At The Avenue Performance Studio, we believe in supporting teachers who want to grow and make a meaningful contribution.

You'll enjoy:

- A supportive leadership team who invests in your growth.
- In-studio training and ongoing paid professional development.
- A workplace where you are valued and appreciated.
- The chance to shape a department and contribute your ideas.
- Opportunities to expand and grow your teaching and leadership skills.
- The chance to help dancers create lifelong memories, friendships and achievements they're proud of.

This is a role where you will feel your impact every single week.

If You're Thinking, "This Sounds Like Me"...

We'd love to meet you.

Apply now by submitting your CV and a short introduction telling us about your teaching experience and why this opportunity excites you.

Because at The Avenue, we're not just preparing dancers for the stage. We're helping them build the confidence to shine both on and off it.
