Operations / Site Manager – Manufacturing

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations / Site Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of an established precast concrete manufacturing business in Darwin.

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing manufacturing, production planning, workforce management, procurement, yard operations and dispatch.

We are looking for someone with proven manufacturing management experience, strong leadership skills and the ability to implement systems, improve operational performance and take accountability for results.

Precast concrete experience is not required. Our priority is finding a capable manufacturing leader who can manage people, processes and performance across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

- Take overall responsibility for daily manufacturing and site operations.

- Manage production planning, scheduling, workforce allocation and manufacturing capacity.

- Lead and develop production supervisors, tradespeople, labourers and yard personnel.

- Ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery commitments are achieved.

- Oversee procurement, inventory management and material availability.

- Coordinate yard operations, finished goods storage, logistics and dispatch.

- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, delays and operational inefficiencies.

- Improve labour productivity, equipment utilisation, manufacturing efficiency and cost control.

- Implement and maintain standardised operating procedures, systems and performance reporting.

- Maintain high standards of workplace safety, quality and housekeeping.

- Work closely with commercial and project management teams to coordinate production priorities and customer requirements.





- Monitor operational KPIs and take ownership of performance improvements.

About You

- Proven experience in manufacturing management, production management or industrial operations.

- Demonstrated ability to manage supervisors and lead manufacturing teams.

- Strong production planning, scheduling and organisational skills.

- Experience managing procurement, inventory, labour and operational workflows.

- Good understanding of manufacturing costs, productivity and operational performance.

- Ability to introduce systems, improve processes and drive accountability.

- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

- Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

- Able to make decisions independently, prioritise effectively and follow through on commitments.

- A proactive, practical approach with a strong sense of ownership.
