About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Receptionist to join the Everlight Medical & Skin Clinic team in Glenunga, SA 5064. This is a part-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional first impression and ensuring smooth operations at our clinic. As Senior Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing front-of-house operations, patient interactions, and administrative processes. This role is essential to creating a positive patient experience whilst supporting the clinical team in providing efficient and professional healthcare services. You will take a leadership role in the reception team, setting standards of excellence and mentoring junior staff members.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable at the clinic

- Managing patient check-in and check-out procedures, including verifying personal details and insurance information

- Scheduling appointments efficiently whilst optimising practitioner availability and minimising patient wait times

- Processing patient payments and managing clinic finances at reception,



including cash handling and reconciliation

- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with privacy legislation and clinic protocols

- Answering telephone enquiries professionally, providing information about services and practitioners, and directing calls appropriately

- Managing clinic correspondence, including letters, emails and prescriptions

- Assisting with clinical duties as required, such as preparing treatment rooms and sterilising equipment

- Supervising and mentoring junior reception staff, providing guidance on protocols and customer service standards

- Liaising with healthcare practitioners and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care

- Maintaining reception area cleanliness and organisation, ensuring a professional appearance at all times

- Performing administrative tasks such as filing, data entry and generating reports

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a medical receptionist, preferably in a clinic, GP surgery or similar healthcare setting

- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage competing priorities in a busy environment

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff





- Proficiency with medical practice management software and general computer systems

- Sound knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures

- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and understanding of privacy legislation requirements

- Demonstrated customer service excellence and a genuine empathy for patients' needs

- Numeracy skills and experience with financial transactions and payments processing

- Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to work

- Supervisory or team leadership experience is highly desirable

- Certification in medical reception or healthcare administration is preferred
