Project Engineer / Project Manager | Port Hedland Based or Perth FIFO | Immediate Start

Pilbara Project Specialists is a Port Hedland-based consultancy providing project and engineering support to major resource and public-sector clients across the Pilbara. We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Project Manager for an immediate start.

The role is client-side project management of multi-discipline infrastructure renewal in Port Hedland (civil, structural, mechanical and electrical scope) through construction, commissioning, Practical Completion and close-out. Alongside this, you will support brownfield and small projects for our resource clients in live operational environments.

This role suits someone with 7+ years in project engineering or delivery who has coordinated multiple contractors on a live site, is comfortable working alongside a site supervisors and client stakeholders, and prefers being on site and close to the work. The role is Port Hedland based or Perth FIFO; openness to relocate to Port Hedland is considered favourable.

Key responsibilities include:

* Client-side project management of a multi-contractor infrastructure project from construction through commissioning, Practical Completion and handover

* Coordinating contractors, supervision, design consultants and client stakeholders across access, sequencing, site handovers and technical interfaces

* Maintaining the consolidated delivery programme, cost report and forecast to complete, and the risk, issues, actions, decisions and change registers

* Tracking RFIs, variations, claims, inspections, hold points and defects, and escalating matters to the supervision/superintendent and client promptly

* Attending weekly fortnightly progress meetings and site inspections; preparing weekly updates and monthly consolidated reports

* Coordinating testing, commissioning, training, O&M; documentation, warranties and as-built handover to the client's operations and asset teams

* Project engineering support across OPEX and CAPEX brownfield scopes for resource clients, including planning,



coordination and execution of site activities

* Supporting safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements on all assignments

About you:

* Degree qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical or similar)

* 7+ years in project engineering or project management, including coordinating multiple contractors on brownfield or infrastructure works

* Working knowledge of Australian Standard construction contracts (AS 2124 / AS 4000 or similar)

* Experience with programme management, cost control, change management and document control systems (Aconex or similar)

* Exposure to mechanical and electrical commissioning (mechanical plant, switchboards, control systems, backup generation) highly regarded

* Local government or public-sector client experience beneficial; major resource site experience highly regarded, equivalent experience also considered

* Ability to work autonomously, find the right approach and bring stakeholders with you

* Strong written reporting and client communication skills

* Ability to pass site medical, inductions and Police Clearance; current WA driver's licence

* Port Hedland based or Perth FIFO; openness to relocate to Port Hedland considered favourable
