About the role

Sirocco Industrial is seeking 2 experienced Industrial Painter/Blaster to join our team in Darwin, NT. This is a full-time position based on-site at our Darwin facility (NT 0800). In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality surface preparation and painting solutions on industrial projects. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity and aesthetic standards of our clients' assets whilst adhering to strict safety and quality protocols. This position offers the chance to work on diverse projects within the industrial sector, utilising your expertise in blasting and painting techniques to ensure exceptional results.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare industrial surfaces through blasting, grinding, and cleaning techniques to achieve the required specification

- Apply protective coatings, paint systems, and specialised finishes to metal structures, equipment, and components

- Operate and maintain blasting equipment and spray application systems safely and effectively

- Inspect and quality-check all painted and blasted surfaces to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards

- Follow and adhere to all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

- Collaborate with other tradespeople and site supervisors to ensure projects are completed on schedule

- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment defects to management

- Support the continuous improvement of work practices and safety standards on site

What we're looking for

- Trade qualification or proven experience as an Industrial Painter and/or Blaster,

- Sound knowledge of surface preparation techniques, including abrasive blasting, grinding, and cleaning methods

- Proficiency in applying various paint systems and protective coatings to industrial surfaces

- Competency in operating blasting equipment, spray guns, and other application tools





- Current or ability to obtain a High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for work at height, if required by the role

- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices in industrial settings

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards

- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces where necessary

- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team

- Willingness to undertake additional training and professional development as required
