About the role

Everlight Medical & Skin Clinic is seeking an experienced GP Nurse to join our healthcare team on a part-time basis. Based in Glenunga, SA 5064, this role is pivotal to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our general practitioners in providing comprehensive medical services. As a GP Nurse, you will play a crucial part in our clinic's operations, ensuring patients receive excellent nursing support across a variety of medical and procedural requirements. This position offers the flexibility of part-time work whilst maintaining the professional standards expected in general practice nursing.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting general practitioners during patient consultations and medical procedures

- Taking patient vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiratory rate

- Performing venepuncture and collecting blood samples for laboratory testing

- Administering injections and vaccinations as directed by medical staff

- Wound care management including dressing changes and wound assessments

- Providing health education and advice to patients regarding their treatment and lifestyle modifications

- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations

- Preparing and maintaining clinical equipment and ensuring a clean, sterile clinical environment

- Triaging patients and assessing their presenting complaints

- Supporting patients with chronic disease management programmes and follow-up care

- Community services & Admin

- Assist doctors with surgical procedures

- Communicating effectively with patients, families and members of the healthcare team

What we're looking for

- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse

- Proven experience working in a general practice or primary healthcare setting

- Strong clinical knowledge and competency in general nursing procedures and practices

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse patient populations





- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy

- Current First Aid and CPR certification

- Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols

- Proficiency in using medical software and electronic health record systems

- A compassionate approach to patient care with a commitment to skilled standards
