About the role

We are seeking a reliable, experienced and hardworking kennel hand to join our team in a job-share arrangement. TASAA is a specialised canine training facility located in beautiful Samford Valley, North Brisbane, approximately 40 minutes by car from Brisbane CBD. Morning shifts commence at 6:00 am and generally finish between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. Some shifts may run later, depending on the number of dogs in our care and the work required. Our facility operates seven days a week. This is a job-share position, so applicants must be willing to share shifts across the weekly roster, including weekends.

Key responsibilities

- Provide high-quality daily care, including feeding, exercise, safe handling and monitoring of puppies and dogs

- Observe and promptly report changes in health, appetite, toileting, behaviour or general wellbeing

- Follow individual animal care instructions, feeding plans and established kennel routines accurately

- Clean and disinfect kennels, equipment, training spaces and surrounding facilities to a consistently high standard

- Maintain safe, comfortable and hygienic living areas and follow infection-control procedures





- Work effectively as part of a team and independently when required, ensuring all tasks are completed on time

About you

- Proven practical experience in canine handling and animal husbandry, with a clear understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of a kennel hand

- Sound understanding of canine body language, behaviour and signs of stress, discomfort or illness

- Confidence handling dogs of different ages, breeds, sizes and temperaments

- Excellent attention to detail, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to animal welfare

- A positive, respectful attitude, clear communication skills and the initiative to work with minimal supervision

- Physical fitness for an active, hands-on role, including secure lifting of up to 20 kg and working in varying weather conditions

- Exceptional reliability and punctuality, with availability for early morning and weekend shifts

- A current driver's licence and reliable personal transport
