Your technical expertise can do more than strengthen information security. It can help protect the sensitive information behind an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by cancer.
Our client is an established not-for-profit undertaking a significant Data Loss Prevention (DLP) implementation, supported by its recent investment in Microsoft 365 E5.
They're seeking an experienced DLP Implementation Lead to turn the organisation's information protection strategy into effective, operational controls.
The opportunity
Reporting directly to the CIO, you'll join a programme where initial planning and technology selection are complete, with implementation still at an early stage.
You'll assess the existing configuration and progress DLP controls across email, file repositories and SharePoint, working with business stakeholders to ensure policies reflect how information is used and shared.
What you'll be doing
- Configuring, testing and refining DLP policies across priority information channels.
- Implementing classification rules, sensitivity labels and automated tagging.
- Progressing endpoint protection and improving visibility of sensitive information.
- Troubleshooting technical issues, managing exceptions and reducing false positives.
- Supporting data optimisation, technical documentation and operational handover.
The technology environment
The implementation is Microsoft-focused, with Microsoft Purview, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Teams forming the core setting.
Additional technologies include Varonis, CrowdStrike, Cato and enterprise file repositories.
What you'll deliver
Your primary focus will be completing DLP implementation across email, file repositories and SharePoint.
You'll also progress endpoint protection, automated classification and data governance, establishing controls the organisation can confidently operate and improve.
What you'll bring
- Proven hands-on experience implementing enterprise DLP capabilities.
- Strong Microsoft Purview expertise, including policy configuration, classification, sensitivity labels and regex-based detection.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimising controls across multiple information channels.
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- A track record of independently delivering complex technical implementations.
Experience with Varonis, CrowdStrike, Cato or similarly sensitive information environments would be advantageous.
This is a hands-on technical role rather than one focused primarily on governance, advisory work or project management.
Working model and benefits
- Initial 10-month fixed-term contract, with extension potential subject to further funding approval.
- $190,000–$210,000 plus superannuation.
- Not-for-profit salary packaging benefits.
- Sydney-based hybrid working, approximately two days per week onsite.
- Direct access to the CIO and collaboration with technology, cyber security and business stakeholders.
