Principal Power Systems Engineer:

A well-established energy business with a mixed portfolio of renewable, hybrid and conventional generation is looking for a Principal Power Systems specialist. You’ll lead the in-house studies team, act as the technical authority, and have a real say in how the team grows and how the assets perform.

The role
Lead grid connection, GPS and network compliance studies, steady-state and energetic.
Own modelling tools, methods and standards, and sign off study outputs.
Build and validate models across platforms, including conversion and benchmarking.
Tackle weak grid and low SCR issues with practical solutions.
Mentor engineers and build out the team’s capability.
Support bids with scope, estimates and technical input.
Work directly with network operators, regulators, OEMs and clients.

You’ll bring
Degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering.
6+ years in power systems, across utilities, generation or consultancy.
Robust PSCAD, PSS/E, PowerFactory and ETAP experience.
A track record delivering GPS and grid connection studies.
Python for study automation.
Microgrid or weak grid experience is a plus.
