Database Engineer/Administrator

Initial 3 months contract

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join a high-performing technology team supporting critical enterprise database environments. This is an excellent chance for a database qualified with solid expertise across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and cloud-based database platforms to contribute to the stability, performance, and security of business-critical systems.

Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database settings.
Demonstrated experience in database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.
Strong knowledge of high-availability architectures, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery practices.
Experience managing databases in cloud environments,



including Microsoft Azure and AWS RDS.
Advanced SQL development skills, including query optimisation, indexing strategies, and stored procedure development.
Experience monitoring database health, capacity planning, and performance analysis.
Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable
Experience with database automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code principles.
Relevant Microsoft, PostgreSQL, AWS, or cloud certifications.
