We are looking for an Animal Attendant to be integral to our Dolittles Team, by providing the highest level of animal care, maintaining hygienic animal housing conditions, delivering excellent customer service and administrative support as required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Walking and exercising animals
Feeding animals
Grooming and washing animals
Monitoring, addressing and reporting animal welfare and health of animals
Completing daily report accurately
Administering medication to animals and providing pet first aid (pending level/training)
Liaise with mobile vets/travel to emergency vet if needed
Cleaning and maintenance of animal boarding facilities and animal care products
Operation of pickup and delivery vehicle as required
Customer service in person, over the phone and via email
Administrative support- including bookings, processing payments, maintaining vaccination records, photo reporting, adding social media posts and data entry.
Other tasks as requested by management

Skills and Behaviors




Practiced animal husbandry skills- Level 3 Animal Husbandry / Animal Care Attendant or previous experience in a boarding kennel, animal shelter or veterinary practice, or a similar animal – care workplace is highly regarded.
Able to read and react to animal behavior- Excellent understanding of animal behavior, with the ability to accurately interpret body language and recognize when an animal is stressed, anxious, uncomfortable or displaying a change in behavior.
Can work with all animal types/breeds including reptiles
Active person with high energy levels to work in a quick-paced setting
High level of flexibility
Excellent customer service skills
Take direction where required
Ability to work within a team efficiently
Basic to intermediate to Office suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
