Express Employment are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter & Machinist to join our team in a manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining, fitting, assembling, maintaining and repairing mechanical components and equipment to engineering specifications.

Hours of work: Mon - Fri 6am - 2.30pm + overtime

Pay Rate: $66.49/h

Key Responsibilities
Operate conventional lathes, milling machines and other workshop equipment.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, alignment and repairs.
Inspect components to ensure quality and accuracy.
Troubleshoot mechanical faults and carry out maintenance as required.
Maintain a protected, clean and organised workshop.

Skills & Experience




Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting and Machining, or equivalent.
Experience in machining, mechanical fitting and assembly.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
Robust problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Experience in heavy manufacturing, hydraulics or railway maintenance equipment is advantageous.
