Tax Accountant - Banking & Financial Services

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join a leading global financial services organisation in Sydney.

This opportunity will suit a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong Australian tax knowledge and experience in banking, investment management, fund administration or another complex financial services setting.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review tax calculations, tax returns, BAS/GST reporting and supporting schedules.
Support investment fund tax reporting, including unit trust distributions and taxable income calculations.
Perform tax reconciliations across general ledgers, accounting systems and financial reporting records.
Investigate discrepancies and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
Liaise with finance, fund accounting and operations teams to resolve tax-related matters.
Support audits,



compliance reviews and reporting process improvements.

Skills & Experience
Previous tax accounting experience within banking, financial services, fund administration or a complex corporate setting.
Robust understanding of Australian tax compliance and reporting requirements.
Experience preparing tax calculations, reconciliations and reporting schedules.
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Relevant Accounting or Finance degree; CA/CPA highly regarded.

Highly Desirable: Experience with investment funds, unit trusts, custody operations, superannuation or fund tax reporting.
