Red Tux Cafe on St Kilda Road is looking for a reliable, effective Solo Line Chef to take charge of our kitchen.

We serve classic cafe breakfasts, casual lunches (burgers, pasta, chicken katsu), and a weekday Bain Marie. It’s a small setup where you'll run the line supported by one kitchen hand.

We maintain a steady flow with short, sharp rushes. We need someone who can step up as a leader during those peak bursts, manage prep priorities, and guide the kitchen hand to keep service moving smoothly.

What you’ll do:
Run the daily kitchen line and manage order flow.
Prep and execute breakfast, lunch, and weekday Bain Marie.
Lead and direct one kitchen hand during service.

What we’re looking for:
Experience running a cafe line independently.
Ability to stay calm and quick during short rush periods.
Leadership skills and strong reliability.

Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 45.0 per week
