About the Role

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant - DNA Extraction to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an entry level position suited to someone looking to build a long term career in laboratory operations.

This role focuses on high volume sample preparation and DNA extraction, supporting the efficient processing of livestock genomic testing. The position plays a critical role in ensuring sample integrity, accurate data handling, and timely processing within a structured laboratory workplace.

Key Responsibilities
Receive and accurately log samples into laboratory tracking systems (LIMS and genomics platforms)
Prepare samples for processing, with a primary focus on DNA extraction activities
Perform routine laboratory tasks to support daily production requirements




Work with the DNA Production Manager to support workflow scheduling and batch processing timelines
Maintain high standards of data accuracy, sample tracking, and record keeping
Assist with sample management, storage and archiving
Support team operations and contribute to a clean, organised laboratory workplace
Undertake cross-training in basic genotyping processes as required

About You
Previous laboratory experience is desirable but not essential
Basic to intermediate Excel and data entry skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
Reliable, team oriented and committed to quality outcomes
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
