About the role

Commercial Club (Albury) Ltd is has two unique opportunities for a Pastry Chef and Baker to join our culinary team on a full-time basis in Albury, NSW. These are an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity and technical expertise in a dynamic hospitality environment. As Pastry Chef or Baker, you will be responsible for creating exceptional pastries, breads, and baked goods that delight our guests and contribute to the outstanding reputation of our establishment. The roles are pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation across all baked products and desserts served at our venue.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare, bake and finish a wide variety of pastries and breads or cakes and desserts to exacting standards

- Develop and execute creative pastry and baking recipes, ensuring consistency and quality across all products

- Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, maintaining appropriate stock levels and ordering as required

- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic bakery and pastry kitchen in compliance with food safety standards

- Operate and maintain all baking equipment, ensuring proper care and reporting any maintenance issues

- Collaborate with front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of products and seamless service

- Train and mentor junior pastry staff and apprentices as required

- Monitor portion control, food costs and waste management to optimise profitability

- Adapt to changing demands and special requests, including custom orders and seasonal offerings

What we're looking for

- A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in baking and / or pastry arts, or equivalent practical experience

- Proven experience working as a Pastry Chef or Baker in a professional hospitality or commercial kitchen environment

- Strong technical knowledge of baking science, including dough fermentation, lamination, tempering and finishing techniques

- Proficiency with a range of baking equipment including ovens,



mixers, proving chambers and specialised pastry tools

- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce visually appealing and delicious products

- A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen management in food preparation

- Creative flair with the ability to develop new pastry and baking ideas whilst maintaining classic techniques

- Robust organisational and time management skills to meet multiple orders and deadlines

- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with all kitchen and service staff

- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, weekends and public holidays as required

- A passion for quality baking and genuine enthusiasm for creating memorable culinary experiences
