The Portarlington Grand Hotel is a historic venue in the heart of Portarlington on the Bellarine Peninsula. It’s a local favourite for relaxed pub dining, coastal views and warm country hospitality. We’re looking for an experienced Kitchen Hand to join our busy kitchen team and keep things clean, safe and running smoothly across lunch and dinner service.

Key responsibilities

- Cleaning the kitchen after both lunch and dinner service
- Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors




- Emptying bins and disposing of rubbish correctly
- Washing and cleaning kitchen utensils, pots, pans, trays and other equipment
- Operating and cleaning commercial dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment
- Cleaning and maintaining the dishwashing area
- Cleaning and sanitising benches, workstations and food preparation areas
- Making sure all kitchen areas are left clean, tidy and hygienic at the end of every shift
- Following food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures

About you

- At least 1–2 years’ experience as a kitchen hand in a busy commercial kitchen
- Confident operating and cleaning commercial dishwashers and kitchen cleaning equipment
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety practices
- Able to work quickly and efficiently under pressure during peak service
- Reliable, punctual and a strong team player
- Available for lunch and dinner shifts, including weekends and public holidays
