ASSISTANT CHEF – EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO TRANSFORM AN INNER WEST ICON!

The Orange Grove Hotel is looking for enthusiastic, innovative and aspirational cooks or chefs to join us! The hotel is currently being transferred to new owners, with a vision to transform the venue into a lively neighbour hub and destination sports venue, with a strong food offering. As part of this, the venue will also undergo significant renovations to all areas, as well as an expansion in our entertainment offering, creating an exciting opportunity to build something special from the ground up.

We are looking for people to share our vision, and work with us during this transformation. We value collaboration, fresh ideas, creativity, reliability, and taking a great pride in delivering quality food. With lunch and dinner served daily across multiple areas of the hotel, this is a great opportunity to join a new team and help establish a fresh food offering.

About the Role:

Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll play an key role in delivering quality food and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Preparing and serving fresh, modern pub food to a consistently high standard
- Maintaining food quality, presentation and service standards
- Supporting the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations




- Following food safety, hygiene and compliance standards
- Working as part of a positive and supportive kitchen tea
- Saturday– lunch or dinner
- Sunday– lunch or dinner

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, flexible and happy to pick up additional shifts when required. As the venue grows, there will be opportunities for more hours.

About You:

- Has commercial kitchen experience and is confident working across a busy service
- Is reliable, punctual and has a great attitude
- Can work independently while following the direction of the Head Chef
- Enjoys modern pub food and working with fresh produce
- Works well under pressure and as part of a team
- Is flexible across lunch, dinner and weekend services
- Brings positive energy and a strong team attitude
