About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll oversee cleaning operations across multiple commercial and strata sites throughout the Newcastle and Hunter region.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring our cleaners have the support, training and direction they need to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

This is an active, field-based management role. You’ll regularly visit sites, engage with employees and clients, conduct inspections and address operational challenges as they arise.

- Quality assurance: Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identify areas for improvement and ensure corrective actions are completed.

- Client relationships: Maintain professional relationships with clients, respond to concerns and ensure issues are resolved promptly.

- Staff development: Train, coach and mentor employees to improve performance, accountability and cleaning standards.

- Problem-solving: Respond to unexpected absences, operational challenges and urgent client requests with practical solutions.

- Workplace safety: Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, safe work procedures and company policies.

- Reporting and communication: Maintain accurate operational records and provide clear updates to the management team.

About You

We’re looking for someone with proven management experience who can step into the role and quickly establish themselves as a reliable, capable leader.

- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience managing cleaning operations, facilities services or a similar multi-site workforce.

- Demonstrated experience leading and managing large teams, ideally 30 or more employees.

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate staff across multiple locations.

- A proven ability to manage performance, address staff issues and hold employees accountable.

- Experience conducting cleaning inspections, managing quality standards and resolving client complaints.

- Confidence making decisions independently and handling unexpected challenges.

- Excellent communication skills and a professional, approachable leadership style.

- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.

- Good computer literacy and confidence using scheduling, reporting and workforce management systems.

- A current Australian driver’s licence.

- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who:

- Leads by example rather than managing from behind a desk.

- Is comfortable having difficult conversations when necessary.

- Follows through on commitments and takes ownership of problems.

- Can balance supporting employees with maintaining clear expectations.

- Understands that consistent cleaning standards and strong client relationships are essential to our success.

- Can hit the ground running and make a positive impact from day one.

What We Offer

- Competitive salary based on experience.

- Fully maintained company vehicle (FPCV).

- Company mobile phone.

- Established operational systems and management support.

- An opportunity to lead a substantial team within a respected, award-winning business.

- Fixed-term contract until 31 January 2027, with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate, subject to business needs and performance.
