Australian Warning Systems (AWS) is looking for a reliable, motivated and hands-on Vehicle Accessory Fitter / Automotive Electrical Installer to join our team in Hallam.

We specialise in the supply and installation of vehicle warning systems and automotive electrical accessories , including LED lightbars, mini lightbars, beacons, work lights, emergency and safety lighting, dashcams, reversing cameras, audible warning alarms, 4WD lighting accessories and a wide range of specialist vehicle safety and electrical equipment.

You'll work on a variety of vehicles, including utes, 4WDs, vans, trucks, commercial fleets and emergency response vehicles.

Responsibilities

- Installing vehicle warning lights, safety equipment, cameras, alarms and electrical accessories
- Installing, modifying and routing 12V/24V wiring looms and harnesses
- Fitting lighting, switching systems, radios, communication equipment and auxiliary electrical systems
- Carrying out wiring connections, crimping, splicing, heat-shrinking and connector termination
- Removing and refitting vehicle trims, panels and components to access wiring and mounting locations
- Measuring, adjusting and securely fitting mounting brackets, assemblies and accessories
- Performing minor component modifications in accordance with installation instructions




- Conducting electrical fault-finding, system testing and troubleshooting
- Working independently on assigned installations while maintaining quality and timelines
- Completing installation checks and relevant job documentation

Skills / Experience

- Experience in vehicle accessory fitting, automotive electrical installations or similar hands-on work
- Sound understanding of 12V/24V automotive electrical systems
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools, multimeters and electrical testing equipment
- Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams and installation instructions
- Attention to detail and pride in neat, skilled workmanship
- Reliability, a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Formal auto electrical qualifications are highly regarded but not essential. Practical experience, technical ability and a willingness to learn are just as important to us.
