Sales Representative and Customer Support

We are seeking a skilled and approachable Sales Representative to join our small but dynamic team in Abbotsford. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual ready to support existing customers and build and grow new business relationships using their sales expertise. Beyond promoting Dench Bakery and strengthening customer relationships, you will be supporting the smooth operation of the office through daily customer service and relevant sales administration. This role requires both office-based hours in our bakehouse office and face-to-face customer visits, car provided during work hours.

Key responsibilities

- Engaging with cafes, restaurants, catering, hotels and speciality retailers
- Liaise with, and introduce, prospective clients to our premium, hand-made range of bread, pastries, and cakes/biscuits through in-person sample visits
- Using past sales data to develop targeted sales strategies, ensuring data-driven decision making and maintaining customer interactions
- Work autonomously, driving sales to meet sales objectives and initiatives, while meeting seasonal deadlines
- Process and manage customer orders as needed
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email
- Monitor brand placement and identify potential new customers




- Support wholesale customers with portal access and online ordering queries
- Liaise with logistics and production teams to set up new customers and ensure smooth order delivery
- Tracking and reporting product and sales performance

About you

- Demonstrated 2-5 years' experience in sales, account management or a customer-facing commercial role
- High level of attention to detail with a customer-focussed approach
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to craft tailored pitches and proposals to individual customers
- A creative thinker capable of identifying potential customers and building lasting relationships, including higher-end hospitality businesses
- A self-starter with solid time management skills, able to work efficiently and independently
- Great analytical abilities to interpret sales data and inform strategy
- Experience with bakery management software is an advantage
- Current driver's licence and ability to travel to customer sites across Melbourne
