yourtown is a trusted provider of services for young people, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing, long-term unemployment, prevention of youth suicide, child protection, as well as support for those experiencing domestic and family violence.

Realise your potential at yourtown.

your opportunity

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands what motivates young people, can build genuine rapport and is confident working across school and community environments. You will provide intensive, strengths-based case management while also acting as a senior point of contact for the team, supporting complex cases, day-to-day decisions and the achievement of program outcomes. This is a full time, maximum term position for 12 months

your role will include:

- providing intensive, individualised case management, including enrolment, assessment, career guidance and tailored transition planning
- engaging young people through practical coaching, work-readiness activities and referrals that address barriers to education, training and employment
- building strong partnerships with schools, education and training providers, community services, employers and government agencies
- creating pathways into vocational training, work experience, apprenticeships, traineeships and employment, and monitoring each young person’s progress
- supporting the Team Leader as a senior point of contact, providing guidance on complex cases, resolving escalations and helping the team meet quality and program requirements

what we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced practitioner who is comfortable being present, practical and proactive. You will understand education settings and the realities facing young people who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging. More important than holding a specific qualification is your depth of relevant experience, sound judgement and ability to recognise what drives each young person and translate that into realistic next steps.

you will bring:

- passion, commitment and belief in young people, with the interpersonal skills to build trust, rapport and motivation
- substantial relevant experience supporting and case managing young people with complex vocational and non-vocational barriers, ideally within a school, education, training or youth services environment
- demonstrated experience in strengths-based, client-centred and intensive case management, including referrals, joint case work and specialist interventions
- strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work effectively with schools, RTOs, TAFEs, employers, community services and government agencies
- sound organisation and administration skills, including accurate case notes, client records, reporting and confidence using digital systems

your benefits

When you join yourtown you will be welcomed into a safe,

inclusive and diverse community and an established and reputable national organisation. We are a resilient, resourceful and dedicated team who strive to make a difference and not accept the status quo.

your employment experience will include:

- salary sacrifice options to increase your take-home pay
- regular line supervision and support, plus internal practice supervision
- the ability to negotiate flexible work hours and work arrangements
- opportunities for internal and external career development
- free access to LinkedIn Learning, including more than 16,000 learning modules
- a genuine focus on employee health and wellbeing, including the yourWellness program and free access to Calm and Centr apps
- free and confidential counselling sessions for you and members of your immediate family
- access to partner discounts across private health insurance, banking and finance, insurance and superannuation
- an environment that values diversity and cultural capability and is an equal opportunity employer

Role closes: Sunday 1st November @ 11.59pm
