Kanes Buses Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable School Bus Driver/Cleaner & Yardsperson to join our team in Henty, NSW. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to combine driving responsibilities with maintenance and yard duties. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of school students whilst maintaining our fleet to the highest standards. This position is based in Henty NSW 2658 .

Key responsibilities

- Operating and driving school buses safely and punctually on scheduled routes, transporting students to and from school
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure buses are in safe working condition
- Maintaining comprehensive logbooks and reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately
- Cleaning and sanitising buses regularly, including interior and exterior surfaces, to ensure a hygienic environment for students
- Performing basic maintenance tasks in the yard, including mowing and fuelling
- Supporting yard operations and assisting with fleet management duties as required
- Adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Communicating professionally with students, parents, school staff and colleagues
- Contributing to a positive workplace culture and supporting the wider Kanes Buses team

What we're looking for

- A valid Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence, with a current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or the ability to obtain one
- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical
- Experience as a bus driver, preferably in school transport or passenger services is desirable but not essential




- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and a commitment to safe driving practices
- Excellent time management and reliability, with a consistent attendance record
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform cleaning and yard maintenance duties
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to working with students and families
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A customer-focused attitude and genuine care for passenger safety and wellbeing
- Experience with basic vehicle maintenance and a willingness to learn is advantageous
