We are hiring an Accountant to run day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, reporting and tax compliance. You will report to the Senior Accountant and keep them updated on all activities, issues and deadlines. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is accurate, organised and wants to build a career in a growing financial services business.

Key responsibilities

Prepare monthly management reports and month-end journals for review by the Senior Accountant.

Prepare year-end workpapers and assist with annual financial statements.

Prepare revenue and margin reports by product line (residential, commercial, specialist and asset finance).

Reconcile upfront and trail commission income from aggregators and lenders.

Record and track commission clawbacks.

Prepare referrer and broker commission payments for approval.

Maintain accurate general ledgers and the chart of accounts.

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.

Monitor expenses, identify discrepancies and resolve them quickly.

Prepare BAS and GST workpapers for Senior Accountant review before lodgement.

About you

Master degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

1 year accounting or finance experience in Australia.

Working knowledge of Australian tax, BAS, GST,



STP and superannuation.

Good Excel skills and experience with cloud accounting software (Xero, MYOB or similar).

Robust analytical skills and high attention to detail.

Good communication, organisation and time-management skills.

Studying towards CA or CPA (highly regarded).

Experience in mortgage broking, lending, financial services or another commission-based business (highly regarded).

Experience with commission reconciliation, trail books and clawbacks (highly regarded).
