- Establish and maintain a skilled profile and be highly regarded within SMBC's business and with external parties.
- Support the team to achieve overall department goals.
- Understand, interpret and ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and branch policies and procedures that apply to SMBC and/or its operations.
- Apply sound knowledge of payroll and remuneration governance, controls and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Enhance and streamline payroll General Ledger reporting and reconciliations.
- Optimise personnel expense forecasting, budgeting and workforce planning activities.
- Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities.
- Coordinate information gathering and process mapping across APAC HR and Payroll teams.
- Support regional alignment and standardisation initiatives.
- Liaise with Australia, APAC stakeholders and third-party payroll providers.
