UNDERWOOD SMASH NSW PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join our team in Botany, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to utilise your skills in vehicle body repair and restoration. As a Panel Beater, you will play a crucial role in restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition, ensuring quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the automotive smash repair industry.

Key responsibilities

- Assess vehicle damage and determine the scope of repair work required
- Remove and reshape damaged body panels using specialised tools and equipment
- Weld and bond panels together to ensure structural integrity and safety
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting through sanding, filling and smoothing
- Operate panel beating equipment safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Work collaboratively with other team members including spray painters and mechanics
- Maintain accurate records of repair work and time spent on each job
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer expectations
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Keep up to date with industry developments and new repair techniques

What we're looking for

- Recognised qualifications or extensive experience in panel beating and vehicle body repair
- Proficiency in operating panel beating equipment including hammers, dollies, hydraulic equipment and welding tools
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body structures and repair techniques
- Ability to read technical drawings and repair specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship




- Physical fitness and ability to work in various positions for extended periods
- A valid driver's licence
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in automotive repair environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with modern vehicle materials including aluminium and composite panels is advantageous
- Previous experience in a busy smash repair workshop is preferred
