Profectus is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to support the planning and delivery of ICT solutions within an Australian Government agency. You will translate business requirements into technical requirements that align with agency architecture, and lead a team through the design, implementation and ongoing support of those solutions. The work covers feasibility assessment, requirements definition and management, systems design and specialist advice to business areas.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead investigative work for feasibility assessments and prepare business cases, including cost/benefit, impact and risk analysis
- Plan and drive scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation for large, complex initiatives
- Establish requirements baselines and manage changes to requirements
- Design large or complex systems, undertaking impact analysis on design options and trade-offs
- Identify gaps in existing functionality and functional interdependencies
- Oversee system configuration and the development and implementation of ICT solutions
- Lead and manage staff, including performance, priorities, workflow and capability development through coaching and mentoring
- Monitor work output and quality against performance standards and report on outcomes and KPIs
- Contribute to costing, workforce planning and the management of budgets, contracts and procurement within the area
- Prepare and review technical and corporate documentation
- Work with internal and external stakeholders, other agencies and vendors to deliver project outcomes

Required Experience

- Senior systems analysis experience at or equivalent to EL1 level (SFIA Level 5)




- Leading feasibility assessments and preparing business cases with options analysis
- Requirements definition and management on large, complex initiatives, including negotiating competing priorities across diverse stakeholders
- Designing large or complex systems that balance functional and non-functional requirements
- Providing expert advice in a specialist area and overseeing advice provided by others
- Leading and developing a team, including setting priorities and managing workflow
- Writing explicit technical and corporate documentation
- Experience in government or a similarly large organisation
- Consultancy experience, including facilitating stakeholder groups and recommending options
- Advising on and improving the use of delivery methods and tools
- Specifying and designing large or complex software applications and components
- Usability and accessibility evaluation of designs and prototypes
- Working within government privacy, security and information management requirements

Security Clearance Requirements

- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must be able to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance
- Current AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance (or higher) preferred

Working Arrangements

- Onsite initially, then hybrid
- Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne
