About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Leading Hand , the Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, repairing and installing electrical equipment and systems across all operational areas of the Essantis Mill.

This role supports the safe, efficient and reliable operation of our manufacturing facility and provides exposure to a diverse range of industrial electrical systems within a modern food processing environment.

Roster : 4 on 2 off Day Shift (07:30 – 16:30), with requirement for overtime and callouts from time to time. The Industrial Electrician is a member of the Wagin Maintenance Team that comprises of 1 x Maintenance Leading Hand, 2 x Industrial Electricians and 2 x Fitters.

Key Responsibilities

As an Industrial Electrician, your duties will include:

- Maintaining plant and equipment service and operational records.
- Ensuring all Electrical Testing and Installation Testing records are completed and submitted to the site’s Electrical Nominee.
- Assisting with tool inventory checks and equipment audits.
- Inspecting and supervising major repairs, including sourcing and ordering required parts.
- Reporting equipment damage, faults and operational issues.
- Supporting plant replacement and preventative maintenance programs.
- Designing, installing and assembling industrial electrical systems and networks.
- Installing, servicing and repairing electrical wiring, conduits,



fixtures and equipment in accordance with relevant standards.
- Interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Conducting electrical testing, inspections and fault-finding activities.
- Testing and maintaining site earthing systems.
- Installing and commissioning lighting systems and switchgear.
- Maintaining workshop and work areas to a high safety and housekeeping standard.
- Identifying and implementing preventative maintenance measures.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and plant reliability activities.

Undertaking other maintenance-related duties within the scope of the role.

About You

You are a safety-focused and proactive tradesperson who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively and contributing to a high-performing maintenance team.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

- Full Australian Work Rights (ie. Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Temporary Visa holder with full working rights)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an industrial electrical workplace.
- Current and unrestricted Electrical Trade Licence.
- Current CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certification.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and their practical application.
- Experience with:
- Motor control systems
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- PLCs and automation systems




- Basic instrumentation

- Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and associated maintenance requirements.
- Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and installation skills.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to identify and resolve root causes of equipment issues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport to get to and from the Wagin site.

Desirable Qualifications

- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Ticket.
- Working at Heights Certification.
- Forklift Licence.
