A respected government organisation is seeking a talented Media, Communications & Engagement Officer to join its communications team and help deliver clear, engaging, and strategic messaging across a range of channels. This is an exciting prospect for an experienced communications professional who enjoys balancing media relations, digital content, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management.
Your new role
Working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will develop and deliver communication initiatives that strengthen community awareness, support organisational objectives, and promote key programs and achievements. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to create compelling content, coordinate media activity, and ensure messaging is consistent, accurate, and audience-focused.
Key responsibilities:

- Develop engaging content for digital, media, and internal communication channels.
- Draft media releases, communication materials, briefing notes, and stakeholder updates.
- Support media enquiries and contribute to proactive public relations activities.
- Coordinate website and intranet content, ensuring information remains current and user-focused.
- Create content for social media platforms, including written, visual, and video-based communications.
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with communication planning,



campaign delivery, and project communications.
- Monitor communication effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will demonstrate:

- Experience in communications, media, public relations, stakeholder engagement, or a related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
- Experience managing digital content across websites, social media, and email communications.
- Confidence working with multiple stakeholders and navigating complex information.
- A proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience supporting communication campaigns and organisational change or project initiatives will be highly regarded.
