Supportive team and clinical development

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to join an established and growing allied health team in Wollongong, servicing the Illawarra and South Coast, including the Nowra area.

You'll work across a varied caseload of NDIS, community aged care and private clients, delivering a mix of community-based and clinic-based services.

Whether you already have experience in the NDIS space or are looking to develop your skills in a new area of practice, this is an opportunity to join an experienced team with supportive leadership and a strong focus on clinical development.

Full-time is preferred, however, applications from OTs seeking three or more days per week will also be considered. For candidates based closer to Nowra, there may be flexibility for this to be their primary office location.

About the role

You'll work with clients across a range of clinical presentations, with opportunities to develop your skills in areas including:

- Functional Capacity Assessments and Activities of Daily Living assessments
- Assistive technology and equipment prescription
- Minor and major home modifications
- Environmental, housing and accessibility assessments
- Manual handling and ergonomic assessments
- Mental health and safeguarding
- Self-care, mental capacity, pressure care, falls and mobility assessments
- Therapeutic interventions to support independence, executive functioning and community participation

You don't need experience across every area listed. The team welcomes OTs with different clinical backgrounds and will support you to develop your skills in line with your interests and professional development goals.

What's on offer?

- $87,000–$105,000 + super, depending on experience.
- Up to $5,000 annual performance bonus, based on individual performance.

- Additional utilisation bonus of $55 per hour once billable targets are met.
- Structured onboarding, with caseloads introduced gradually based on your experience and capability.
- No billable targets during onboarding, giving you time to settle into the role and learn the systems.
- Experienced clinical leadership, with dedicated clinical, people, compliance and operational support.
- A collaborative OT team with a range of experience levels and opportunities to learn from others.
- Clinical variety and development, with exposure to different client groups, schemes and areas of practice.
- Versatile employment options, with full-time preferred but three or more days per week considered.

About you

To be considered, you'll have:

- Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- At least 1-2 years of OT experience. New graduates cannot be considered for this position.
- A current driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients, families and other stakeholders.
- An interest in community-based practice and supporting clients to achieve greater independence.
- A willingness to obtain the required NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check and Working with Children Check, where applicable.
- The ability to meet applicable health worker vaccination requirements.
- Experience in NDIS, community health, aged care or private practice would be beneficial. However, OTs from other clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply if they're interested in developing their skills in these areas.

About the organisation

You'll be joining an established allied health provider with a long-standing presence in the industry and a strong focus on delivering high-quality, person-centred services.

The organisation values clinical quality, collaboration and continuous improvement, with an experienced leadership team committed to investing in its clinicians and supporting their professional growth.
