Broad Financial Accountant role with reporting, compliance and audit exposure/n Your new company /n Join a purpose-driven organisation operating within the community services sector. With a strong focus on delivering positive outcomes for the community, the organisation operates in a regulated and compliance-focused environment and is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to strengthen its finance function. Your new role /n Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of a broad range of financial accounting, statutory compliance and reporting responsibilities. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical accounting capability, attention to detail and the ability to maintain high-quality financial records across a multi-entity environment. /n Your responsibilities will include: /n /n
- Managing month-end and year-end accounting activities, including complex journals, accruals, provisions, prepayments, payroll-related entries and intercompany transactions /n
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong balance sheet integrity /n
- Preparing monthly management reporting across profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow /n
- Providing variance analysis and commentary against budgets, forecasts and prior periods /n
- Supporting BAS, GST, FBT and other statutory reporting and compliance requirements /n
- Preparing audit-ready working papers and supporting external audit processes /n
- Assisting with statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting /n
- Identifying control gaps, accounting risks and opportunities to strengthen financial governance /n




- Supporting systems improvement, automation and enhanced finance processes /n
- Partnering with finance, payroll, operations and senior stakeholders to provide clear financial guidance /n /n

What you'll need
to succeed /n /nTo be successful in this position, you will be a technically strong accountant who is comfortable operating in a regulated, audit-focused environment. You will ideally bring:/n /n /n
- CA or CPA qualification /n
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline /n
- Experience with grants and funding arrangements /n
- Strong exposure to statutory compliance, including BAS, GST and FBT /n
- Advanced Excel capability /n
- Experience using Xero /n
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail /n
