Job Description
/n Summary: /n We are seeking a qualified Accountant to join our dynamic team in Newcastle, New South Wales. This permanent, full time position is essential for maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. /n

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with Australian accounting standards. /n
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. /n
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts. /n
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis as required. /n
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns. /n
- Support month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and general ledger activities. /n
- Reviewing financial information, investigating discrepancies and escalating issues where required. /n




- Support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations. /n
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions. /n
- Identifying opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the finance processes. /n /n About You: /n /n We are looking for someone who is motivated to learn, takes pride in producing accurate work and enjoys being part of a team. Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. /n
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar accounting role. /n
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero) and Microsoft Excel. /n
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. /n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. /n /n
