Job Description

As a critical member of the WEM (Wholesale Electricity Market)Operation Solutions team, the Senior Developer will be responsible for thedevelopment of critical real-time power system operation software solutions;working closely with integration teams and other development teams to design,build and commission those solutions; engaging with subject matter experts andbusiness stakeholders to ensure requirements are met; and supporting readinessand transitional activities. This role would need to support successfulimplementation of critical programs and projects for WA portfolio from time totime.

- 1. Engage with SMEs andinternal stakeholders to develop critical power system operation softwaresolutions.
- 2. Work with Project Managers and Project Leads to deliver softwaresol
- 3. SupportProduction Readiness activities and material development.
- 4. Consult withdigital teams in order to develop transition to support plans and materials.
- 5. SME for ongoing support and enhancements for the Power Systems.
- 6. Activeand visible support of relevant Workplace Health and Safety,Anti-Discrimination, and Competition and Consumer Acts.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

Education/ Certificates Tertiary and/or postgraduate in engineering,mathematics, science, information technology or a similar analyticaldiscipline desirable. Experience and Knowledge - Minimum 5 years' experiencein building software, including design, development, and integration. –

Requirements

- Demonstrated knowledge of best practiseswhen developing systems for critical infrastructure.
- Demonstrated trackrecord of implementing large complex projects.
- Experience in high performingteams running in Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid projects.
- Proven skills inmanaging software builds, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
- -Excellent stakeholder relations capabilities with the ability to form solid,trusting relationships with key stakeholders.
- Experience in powersystem/power market operation or power system planning preferable.
- Anunderstanding of the WA Govt's Energy Transformation Strategy (ETS) and theproposed WEM Reforms preferable.
- Demonstrating excellent understanding ofdelivering enterprise applications, using:
- Distributed pub/sub messaging RabbitMQ, UM, JMS, etc
- Source code andartefact repositories
- Cloud Service Platforms and development. MicrosoftAzure preferred
- Azure Devops pipelines, or similar CICD pipelines (Bamboo,Jenkins, etc)
- Containerised development including Docker and Kubernetes
- PowerShell and Python a plus
- SCADA, PI, and real time systems a plus
