Residential Manager, Sacred Heart Community
Many people know Sacred Heart Mission for our work to end homelessness and disadvantage. We are also proud to operate Sacred Heart Community (SHC), a 97-bed specialist residential aged care service providing a permanent home for people who have experienced homelessness, deep disadvantage and social exclusion.
Our residents have diverse and complex health, psychosocial and care needs, including younger people whose circumstances may not fit the traditional model of aged care. Our approach goes beyond clinical care. We create a home where people feel safe, respected and valued, with dignity, choice, connection and wellbeing at the centre of everyday life.
At Sacred Heart Mission, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life. Join us and make a meaningful difference as part of a welcoming, supportive organisation with a big heart.

You'll shape both the experience of residents and the culture and performance of the service. Leading a diverse, multidisciplinary team, you'll work closely with the Deputy Manager - Clinical Care to support clinical excellence and foster a positive, collaborative and accountable workplace culture.
You'll bring a hands-on approach to leadership, balancing compassion with financial and commercial acumen, navigating complex quality and regulatory requirements, and bringing people together around a shared purpose.

- Oversee compassionate, trauma-informed, person-centred clinical care that empowers residents and promotes wellbeing.
- Work with the Deputy Manager and the Quality team to review clinical risks, address audit findings and drive improvements in care.
- Support the Admissions Coordinator to manage vacancies, assess prospective residents to determine suitability in line with service capacity.
- Partner with Finance to review budgets, workforce expenditure and AN-ACC funding, identifying opportunities to improve performance and sustainability.
- Walk through the home to connect with residents, families and staff, hear their feedback and address concerns or opportunities for improvement.
- Work with the Head of Aged Care and teams across SHM to identify new opportunities, workshop ideas and develop solutions that enhance the service and support its long-term sustainability.
What you'll bring
- Registered Nurse qualification and current AHPRA registration.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex residential aged care setting, with accountability for operational performance, quality of care and resident experience.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience in budget management, occupancy and admissions, workforce planning and resource utilisation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aged care legislation, clinical governance, safeguarding and regulatory requirements, with experience leading audits, responding to incidents and implementing improvement actions.
- Demonstrated commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed and culturally safe care, including responding to the diverse and complex needs of people experiencing disadvantage and social exclusion.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build a positive workplace culture, develop others and lead change.
You will bring compassion and integrity alongside the confidence to make difficult decisions, set explicit expectations and lead in a complex and busy environment. You understand that excellent care and strong operational performance go hand in hand, and that a positive staff culture is fundamental to residents' wellbeing.
