Take ownership of HSEQ across a civil infrastructure environment, working directly with senior leadership.

About the RoleAn established civil infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead health, safety, environmental and quality across its projects and wider operations.Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will take ownership of HSEQ systems, compliance, risk management and continuous improvement while partnering closely with Project Managers, site teams, senior leadership, clients and external stakeholders.This isn't simply a compliance-focused safety position. You'll have the opportunity to influence how HSEQ is managed across the organisation, improving systems and processes while remaining connected to project delivery and the people operating on site.Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HSEQ management systems
- Drive a proactive, safety-first culture across projects and operations
- Provide practical HSEQ advice and guidance to management and project teams
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, quality and statutory requirements
- Conduct site inspections, audits and incident investigations
- Lead root-cause investigations and manage corrective actions
- Identify and manage operational, safety and reputational risks
- Support project teams with SWMS, JSAs and associated safety documentation
- Monitor and report HSEQ performance, incidents, audits and risk data
- Deliver HSEQ training, coaching and mentoring across the workforce
- Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes
- Engage with clients, regulators and industry stakeholders on HSEQ matters.

About YouYou will be an experienced HSEQ professional who can operate at both a strategic and operational level, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders while building strong relationships with project and site teams.Ideally, you will bring:

- 5+ years' HSEQ experience within civil construction, utilities,



trenchless infrastructure and/or water/wastewater
- 3+ years' experience in a leadership capacity
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS/OHS, Safety Science, Environmental Science, Engineering or similar, with a minimum Cert IV/Diploma in WHS or equivalent experience
- Formal incident investigation qualifications such as ICAM
- Demonstrated root-cause investigation and corrective-action capability
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, compliance requirements and HSEQ management systems
- Ability to coach, mentor and positively influence safety behaviours
- Current White Card and driving licence
- Flexibility to travel to project sites and work away when required.
