We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Engineering Technologist to join our team at Dandenong South, Victoria.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing mechanical designs, preparing engineering drawings and supporting manufacturing operations. The role involves working closely with the machining and production teams to ensure that mechanical components and designs are practical, accurate and suitable for CNC manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and prepare detailed mechanical designs, 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models for mechanical components and assemblies.

Prepare technical drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation in accordance with engineering standards.

Review customer requirements, technical specifications and design concepts to develop appropriate mechanical solutions.

Design and modify mechanical components to meet dimensional tolerances, material requirements and manufacturing specifications.

Prepare and review CAD/CAM models and technical data to support CNC milling and turning operations.

Work closely with CNC machinists and production personnel to ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing.





Analyse design requirements and identify opportunities to improve component functionality, accuracy and manufacturing efficiency.

Select appropriate materials, dimensions, tolerances and manufacturing methods for mechanical components.

Review existing designs and drawings and implement modifications where required.

Provide technical support to production teams in resolving design and manufacturing-related issues.

Conduct design reviews and verify drawings against engineering specifications and customer requirements.

Maintain accurate engineering records, drawings, revisions and design documentation.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Experience in mechanical design and engineering drawing preparation.

Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent.

Knowledge of CNC machining processes, including milling and turning.

Understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing processes and dimensional tolerances.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams.
