Crystalaid is a build-to-print micro-electronics manufacturer producing mission-critical electronics for aerospace, defence, biometrics and identity applications. We are hiring for two roles: Assembly Technicians and Manufacturing Technicians. Both are hands-on roles building high-complexity electronics.

Assembly Technician

You will build precision electronic assemblies by hand, accurately and to standard, every time.

Key responsibilities

- Read and follow drawings, work instructions and build documentation.
- Use hand tools and soldering equipment to assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies.
- Operate SMT (surface-mount) equipment to place and assemble components.
- Check your work against quality requirements and flag anything out of specification.
- Keep your workspace clean, organised and safe.

About you

- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
- Practical problem-solving when something doesn't go to plan.
- A trade, certificate or experience in electronics assembly or similar precision work (preferred, not essential).
- Hand soldering experience or knowledge of IPC-A-610 is a plus.
- Australian citizen able to obtain and hold a Baseline security clearance.
- Satisfactory National Police Check, Baseline security check, and medical checks including drug and alcohol screening required.

You will keep our production equipment running and get each customer job ready for the line. The role suits someone with an engineering tilt who enjoys both machines and design.

Key responsibilities

- Operate production machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults,

and carry out maintenance and calibration.
- Carry out quality control checks and inspections.
- Review customer drawings and data for manufacturability, and give transparent feedback.
- Design stencils from approved customer data.
- Keep accurate documentation, records and traceability for every job.

About you

- A qualification in electronics, electrical or mechatronics engineering, or equivalent industry experience (a degree is welcome but not required).
- Working knowledge of electronic design and manufacturing, including PCB design and assembly.
- Experience with an ECAD tool, ideally Altium Designer.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults methodically.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610, SMT processes or stencil design is a strong advantage.
- Australian citizen able to obtain and hold a Baseline security clearance.
- Satisfactory National Police Check, Baseline security check, and medical checks including drug and alcohol screening required.
- Permanent, full-time work on technically demanding aerospace and defence products.
- Structured training, with room to grow into senior technical, quality or engineering roles.
- A modern Tingalpa facility, with tools and PPE provided.
